Bunny Blocks
Here is a fun bunny block for spring.
MATERIALS for a 4.5” finished block, 5″ unfinished
3 – 2” white squares
1 – 3.5″ coloured square
2 – 2″ x 3.5″ coloured rectangles
MATERIALS for a 9” finished block, 9.5″ unfinished
3 – 3.5” white squares
1 – 6.5″ coloured square
2 – 3.5″ x 6.5″ coloured rectangles

ASSEMBLY
Draw a diagonal on two of the white squares and place them on the ends of the rectangles in the orientation below. Pin and sew beside the line on the side towards what will be cut off. Using your ruler cut a 1/4″ seam.

Press toward the coloured side.
Using one of the white triangles you cut off arrange your ruler so that the long sides of the triangle lie under the 1 1/8″ markings and cut off the parts that stick out.
(**For the 9″ block set the corner of the cut off triangle under the 2 1/8″ markings and cut off what sticks out.)

Draw a line on the wrong side on the diagonal. Lay the piece on the bottom corner of the large triangle as below and sew along the line. Trim so that there is a 1/4″ seam. Press the seam to the coloured side.

Assemble the four-patch. I sewed the white square to the top of the blue rectangle and pressed the seam to the white side. Then I sewed the blue rectangle to the large square and pressed the seam to the large square. ** Trim to square as much as possible before joining to another bunny block.

Voila, a bunny!

Have fun,
M
